Welcome
I'm an Italian electronic engineer graduated from the University of
Cagliari in Sardinia with a thesis about information security: "A system for the
conversion of alarm messages format, generated by Intrusion Detection
Systems in computer networks" (original title "Sviluppo di un
sistema per la conversione del formato dei messaggi di allarme prodotti
da sistemi per la rilevazione di intrusioni in reti di calcolatori").
So the focus of my expertise is computer science.
Until the end of 2008, I was part of the Bioinformatics
service group at the
CRS4 research center
(Centro di ricerca e sviluppo, studi superiori
Sardegna). Currently I work with CRS4's Molecular
Informatics Group (MIG). I have acquired significant experience
in the development
of molecular and biological databases and web applications.
Expertise
Modelling and development: OOP, XML, UML, AGILE software development techniques, eXtreme programming. Advanced web design. Relational database development. Ethical hacking techniques.
Programming languages and tools: x86 and MIPS assembly, Pascal, C, C++, Java, Vbasic, Delphi, Kylix, Verilog, HTML, Python, PHP, ASP, Perl, CGI and shell scripting. Eclipse and NetBeans environments, SQL. Microsoft Access, MySQL, PostgreSQL. Network protocols, Network and system administration.
Operating systems: Unix (Linux), Windows, MAC-OS X.
Current scientific activities
MMsINC: Public Large-Scale Chemoinformatics Database System. Deveoped in collaboration with the University of Padua.
Andhìra: The database of endemic plants and their bioactive molecules in Sardinia.
IntoResearch: Chief Engineer of Informatic Tools for Research company (ITR).
